Quiet Time - Perception of God in Man

Cynically, God opened Exodus 7 with a quick mention that He has just made a god out of Moses in the sight of Pharaoh! It sure brings me a quick reminder how cheesy Man's view on God really is. As long as you can do something extraordinary, either with a talent, skill or capability. You are a god!

So much for that. Now, comes the interesting part of this chapter - a race to display miracles! When you first read them, it's somewhat puzzling to see that the sorcerers and wise men of Egypt could do exactly what Moses did - in both the rod-to-serpent and bloody rivers.

Well, the only lesson I could derive from them is that the apparent similarities of truth does not necessarily mean absolute truth! This can be applied to the world's understanding of religions and faith today. Everyone seems to be correct but there lies only one absolute - Jehovah God, Yahweh. From the commonalities of facts and figures of religion, a critical twist stands out among all others - Jesus Christ gives. Every other religions I was brought up with, asks for something in return, with a hope of a possible reward. You must do good first, be a good person first...then maybe, you will be fine.
